In the fall of 1973,about 15 families got together to

discuss the possibility of breaking away from their

current club to organize a club of their own.

They thought it would be worthwhile to establish

another club and be in charge of their own trails

.

"Lots of sleds at the annual brat fry"

After several meetings were held to establish

by-laws and a constitution,the Kohlsville Kruisers

were on their own.Ralph Martin was the first

president of the club.

In the first years of the clubs existance there were

about 50 members.

The club's first grooming device was a snowmobile

that pulled bedsprings behind it.In 1981,a "CAT"

and a homemade groomer were used to maintain

the trails.

"Tucker Sno-Cat Groomer"

One of the clubs biggest purchases was made in May

of 1984 when they purchased a Bombadier to pull the

Groomer. In 1994 the club, with help of area businesses

and other community members, purchased a brand new

Arrowhead groomer. In 1996,the club sold the "Bombi"

and bought a used Tucker Sno Cat,which was bigger than

the "Bombi".With the Tucker Sno Cat and new groomer

combination, grooming the trails is fun and fast!!

"bridge replacement"

The Club is currently resonsible for almost 20 miles of

snowmobile trails.

Our trails contain a section of state corridor 34,which

connects to 25,000 miles of state funded trails throughout

Wisconsin.

Kohlsville is located 40 miles Northwest of Milwaukee in

the northwest corner of Washington County.
